The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors welcomed the new owner of Hair by Design Salon, Meagan Couch, with a Ribbon Cutting on April 28, 2021. Hair by Design Salon is located at 201 E Market Street in Bluffton with the signature red front on the building.
Meagan Couch purchased Hair by Design Salon from Donna Green in January 2021 and was open for business in February. “I was fortunate to find a space and turnkey business to walk in to. The space was ready, and I added some décor of my own to give it a welcoming feel,” said Couch.
Couch has been in the cosmetology business for 11 years and worked at many chain salons in the area. The last salon Couch worked recently closed and decided it was time to open a business on her own.
“I am at a point where I want to be my own boss, run my own promotions, and ultimately help more people feel better about themselves,” explained Couch.
Couch provides services for children and adults with haircuts, shampooing, waxing, perming, and coloring. “In the future I might add nails to the list of services and would like to offer an apprenticeship to someone right out of school to train and mold them into the business.”
“I am really excited to be in this location,” said Couch. “I grew up in Wells County and am surrounded by family and friends. I come from a family of teachers and nurses who are all caring and give back to others; helping people is what I want to do with this business as well.”
Hair by Design Salon is open during the week 9am to 2pm and 11am to 7pm on Friday and Saturday.
