The Wells County Chamber of Commerce, its board members, and ambassadors welcomed Age in Place Home Services with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Bluffton. The new office, located at 109 N Scott St., marks an important milestone in providing essential, compassionate in-home care to elderly and disabled residents in the area.

Age in Place Home Services is dedicated to helping individuals maintain their independence and quality of life by offering both attendant and homemaker care. The company’s mission is clear: to ensure that those in need can receive personalized, high-quality care in the comfort of their own homes. From grocery shopping, meal preparation, and light housekeeping to bathing, grooming, and medication reminders, the team is committed to addressing the day-to-day challenges that help people remain independent. In addition, companionship services—such as engaging in puzzles, playing checkers, or simply enjoying conversation—are provided to enhance social well-being.

“We know that one of the biggest concerns for aging individuals or those with health challenges is feeling like they have no choice but to leave their homes for proper care,” said Tracy Mandel, founder of Age in Place Home Services. “Our goal is to change that by providing personalized, compassionate care that allows people to stay where they feel most comfortable—at home.”

The Bluffton office, managed by Tommie Mandel, is poised to meet the growing demand for quality in-home care services. “We know there is a real need for these services in Bluffton,” Tommie explained. “Many individuals want to remain in their homes as they age, but they need extra support to do so safely. We’re focused on expanding our personal care services here, and we look forward to eventually introducing skilled care options as well.”

The inspiration behind Age in Place Home Services stems from a deep understanding of the challenges faced by elderly individuals and those with disabilities. “I’ve worked in long-term care facilities and have seen firsthand that most people would prefer to stay in their homes if given the right support,” Tracy shared. “Home care provides a level of personalized, one-on-one attention that facilities simply can’t match. Our vision is to help individuals age in place with dignity and independence.”

With its corporate office in Huntington and additional locations in Columbia City and Wabash, Age in Place Home Services is well-positioned to serve a broader area in Northeast Indiana. The opening of the Bluffton office underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its reach and meeting the growing demand for in-home care services.

Currently, the Bluffton office has four dedicated staff members, with plans to expand further as demand grows. The company prides itself on a professional appearance, with staff easily recognized by their signature blue uniforms, fostering trust and familiarity within the community.
