Above & Beyond Vehicle Reconditioning Moves to Commerce Drive
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors welcomed owners, Wes and Helen Minnich with Above & Beyond Vehicle Reconditioning, to their new building with a ribbon cutting celebration. Minnich recently purchased the building located at 2165 Commerce Drive in Bluffton.
Above & Beyond Vehicle Reconditioning has seen many changes in the past 16 years. Minnich started the business in 2006 detailing cars specifically for dealerships such as Moser Motors and Hiday Automotive Group. Over the years, Minnich continued to pick up more dealership accounts. Once Hiday Automotive Group moved out of their old location, Minnich moved the business in to allow for more space and growth. After a year and a half, Minnich moved to the North Main Street location and leased that space.
Two years ago, business with the dealerships had been going strong detailing 10 or more cars a day. “Our business has continued to grow as we detail one to two cars from the dealerships, which has allowed us to offer other services for retail customers,” explained Minnich. “Once this building (on Commerce Drive) went up for sale, I jumped on the opportunity to buy because the space is more workable for the jobs we can now expand to.”
With this new space, comes new opportunities for the business plan and expand clientele. “Our building now is recession proof because we have a great space with 16-foot ceilings and 14-foot doors to allow us to work on heavy trucks and large vehicles. We can now work on semis, boats, RV’s, large trucks, motorhomes, commercial trucks, and more.”
Minnich said that they take pride in their tagline of Your Vehicle’s #1 Cosmetic Shop. “Should there be a cosmetic issue with your car, we can figure out how to make it right,” stated Minnich. “Customers who have had a deer collision and need cosmetic repairs can call us for additional alternatives instead of submitting into their insurance company.”
Above & Beyond Vehicle Reconditioning is more than detailing. There is a large menu of other specialty services they provide: paintless dent repair, minor body work, wheel refinishing, headlamp repair, window tint removal, enzyme treatment, seat & upholstery repairs, heated & cooled seat upgrade, ceramic coating, tar & sap removal, headliner repair, and leather seat conversion.
“Accidents can happen, and we have removed paint, gasoline, diesel, primer, and various food spills out of the vehicles,” Minnich said. “We can fix almost anything within reason. Call us first when something happens, and we will see what we can do.”
Another service Minnich can now provide is rustproofing and ceramic coating. “I hold my standards very high in the process and the quality of work,” Minnich stated. “Those that have recently purchased a vehicle and plan to keep it a long time, would be a good candidate for this service for protection.”
