Bluffton NOW! CRP Dollars Celebrated at Local Business
Jerry Flack’s Investments and Insurance Company located at 101 N Main St in Bluffton celebrated their office remodel through the investment of the Bluffton NOW! Community Re-Investment Program (CRP) with a Business After Hours and Ribbon Cutting on October 10. Special guests, Santa and Mrs. Claus also flew in from Lambo Field to help with the celebration.
The Bluffton NOW! CRP is a dollar for dollar reimbursement grant program for downtown Bluffton businesses to rebuild, repair, renovate or improve the exterior façade, structural and mechanical components, LED lighting, and interior elements of buildings.
Flack submitted an application for 2018 and was approved for a grant of $9,000 to put in a new central heating and air conditioning system, lighting, electrical, handicap accessible restrooms, and create an area room to hold seminars and informational sessions. Flack contributed $9,000 of his own funds to make the project a total of $18,000.
The demand for Medicare, Medicaid, and Disability Insurance continues to rise. “I recently hired Julie Myers as an Insurance Agent. Without Julie and without the CRP dollars I would not have made this expansion in my business,” explained Flack. “We are staying downtown due to this investment and bringing Julie into the business. Our plan is to continue making improvements and expand to the other side of the building.”
Flack stated, “the space will allow us to hold evening seminars and information sessions about the various and vast products we offer with Medicare, Medicaid, Life Insurance, Annuities, and Disability Insurance. Our staff is the same with Donna Geisman, Diane Enyart, Norma King, Deb King, and Connie Vangelakos. However, we just added a new position for IT Data-Entry and welcoming Chelle King-Gates to the team.”
“We really feel it is important to support and promote the downtown local businesses. The rolls and coffee were purchased from Hugh’s Bakery & Coffeehouse and the cookies were from Sweet Obsessions. The News-Banner is working on building a website for the business as well,” said Flack.
