Chamber Welcomes Grass Green to Wells County
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassador officially welcomed Grass Green, located at 755 North Main Street in Bluffton, with a Ribbon Cutting to celebrate their new location.
Brothers, Ty and Manny Miller, started Grass Green in 2007. Previously they worked with larger lawn companies in Fort Wayne and felt they could provide a higher quality product and offer better customer service to clients. The Miller’s had several small spaces in Fort Wayne operating their business; however, as the client base grew, they ran out of space to operate.
Ty and his family live in Wells County and they were able to find a location on the south end of Briner Building. The larger space will allow the team to work on equipment, store the necessary products, and have everything they need to operate the business effectively.
Grass Green offers services such as lawn fertilization, aeration, seeding insecticide, fungicide treatments, flea and tick control, grub prevention, and weed control. “We work with commercial and residential properties,” said Ty. “We do not mow lawns and will refer those services to others in the area.”
“We understand this type of business extensively and I consider myself a grass nerd,” explained Ty. “I enjoy researching the industry, reading university studies, and consistently learning more about products all the time.”
“Being responsive to our customer needs is important and delivering high service is a priority,” said Ty. “We want to meet the customer expectations providing the time and attention to the job, finding out what the needs may be, and being responsive quickly.”
The Miller’s have hired individuals with an extensive background of experience so needs can be met the first time properly. “We have one staff member that was a golf superintendent for over 30 years, another that has been in lawn care over 10 years, and one with over 20 years of lawn experience. They know the business and are very good at what they do,” stated Ty.
Grass Green not only serves Wells County, but also serves Fort Wayne, Kendallville, Auburn, Columbia City, Warsaw, Decatur, Leo, Grabill, Churubusco, New Haven, and Roanoke.
Ty said their goal is to provide a good service to people and continue to grow in Wells County; however, they know that there are a lot of other great companies in town and don’t want to take their business, “but there are a lot of lawns to cover.”
