Family LifeCare recognizes the accomplishments and importance that caregivers make in our communities. We want to help those with the role of caregiver and to be your resource. There are nearly 44 million family caregivers in the United States and the majority are females (60%). Eight in ten are taking care of one person (82%). On average, they are 49 years old. A large majority of caregivers provider care for a relative (85%) with 49% caring for a parent or parent-in-law. One in ten is caring for a spouse.

Caregivers typically assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as running errands, fixing meals, or bathing and they usually conduct medical or nursing tasks such as wound care or managing medications for their loved one. Throughout the month of November, Family LifeCare will be joining organizations across the nation hosting activities that will help the community understand how important hospice and palliative care can be.

More information about home health, hospice, palliative care, children’s services and caregiving resources is available by contacting Family LifeCare at 1-800-355-2817. If you plan to any or all of the series, an RSVP is appreciated, but not required. Family LifeCare provides services in Adams, Allen, Blackford, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Randolph, Wabash, Wells, and Whitley counties.
