(Berne, Indiana) – Family LifeCare, a non-profit organization, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year—twenty years of providing hospice, grief support, palliative care and more recently home health, infusion therapy and children’s services with hope, comfort and dignity.
Family LifeCare recognizes and extends special thanks to time-honored supporters, the Reiff family of Bluffton. Paul Reiff is a Family LifeCare Governing Board Member. He and his wife, Lu founded and retired from General Manufacturing in Bluffton; their children now lead the company. They remain active in the community and are generous contributors to Family LifeCare’s mission. Pictured with the 1920’s Roadster at this year’s FLC Annual Fundraiser is (rear, left to right): Matt Reiff (hiding), Lu Reiff, Melissa Reiff, Sarah Meister, and Missy Reiff; and (front, left to right): Paul Reiff, Louise Brendel and Park Reiff.
This year’s benefit—Puttin’ on the Ritz, was a roaring 20s celebration that was held September 23rd at Lighted Gardens in Ossian. Most attendees dressed in 1920’s attire and enjoyed a roaring good evening that included specialty hors d’oeuvres, an elegant dinner, a decadent 20th anniversary cake, live and silent auctions, a chocolate/wine, card & other raffles. Everyone is encouraged to join the FLC event next year slated for Saturday, October 6, 2018.
FLC honored Marvin Baird, former Executive Director of Adams Memorial Hospital; Vic Porter, Founder of Thunderbird Formula Boats, Decatur; and Dr. Bernie Wiebe, FLC Chief Medical Officer for their contributions over two decades since FLC was established in 1997. Anyone who knows these public servant leaders, anyone touched by hospice or home health care over our 20-year history, or anyone interested in learning more about our services is encouraged to contact us.
Proceeds from the event and all donations benefit the FLC Legacy Fund that enables us to extend services to community members who are underinsured or have no insurance benefits. With ongoing cuts to Medicare reimbursement and other financial changes brought about by governmental regulations, this endowment fund is critical in meeting the needs of our patients and their families. Your help allows us to continue our mission of bringing hope, comfort and dignity to patients, families, and all who need our services.
