FirstFleet Honored as the December Member of the Month
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors congratulated Perry Glancy and staff at FirstFleet as the Member of the Month on December 5. FirstFleet is located at 594 S Decker Drive, Bluffton.
FirstFleet is a privately-owned company, founded in 1986 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and opened a terminal location in Wells County in 1989. Bluffton is one of the largest terminals in the nation. FirstFleet is a contract carriage service to businesses across the country. “Locally, our primary customer and primary focus is Peyton’s Northern delivering goods to Kroger stores since 1989,” explains Glancy. “We are very blessed to have a customer like Peyton’s.”
Deliveries are made 7 days a week, 365 days a year with an average of 100 trucks per day delivering goods out of the Bluffton location. Glancy explains that FirstFleet is very fortunate to be in this community. “Logistically, the area is user friendly. We are 13 miles from the highway, this is a safe community, the cost of doing business is great, and we want to be here for many years to come.”
“We take a lot of pride in our dedicated and quality group of CDL drivers. FirstFleet provides state-of-the-art trucks with advanced technology, and schedule flexibility and pay for drivers,” says Glancy. “Our trucks have satellite communications, can track equipment, loaded with sensors and deviation devices for safety. The technology is top notch in these rigs.”
As the company grows, the need for drivers increases as well. “We look for CDL drivers that have one year of driving experience, be 23 years of age or older, want a flexible schedule and want to make an income of $60,000 or more,” states Glancy.
FirstFleet has a set of common values that have become their philosophy of life and work so team members work in the same direction and exceed the expectations of those they interact with. Glancy says, “the Core Values are instilled in us to deliver outstanding service, empower our people to do the right thing, build relationships on trust, treat everyone with respect and care, and embrace change”
Glancy feels it is important to give back to the community and sponsor little league teams, support Veterans programs, donate to the Boys and Girls Club, and are a member of the Wells County Chamber of Commerce.
“We are so appreciative and excited to be honored this month,” concludes Glancy.
