Salary $75k-$100k, *higher end of range reserved for candidates with equivalent experience producing superior results in all four essential functions Location BIGJAWs YFC (Adams, Blackford, Grant, Jay, and Wells Counties – Indiana) Position Summary The Executive Director serves a pivotal role in the advancement of the mission of YFC. This position requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, as well as strong communication, management, and persuasion skills. The Executive Director must embrace and build a team that embodies YFC’s Cultural Attributes:
Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom-inspired diversity.
The Executive Director is a strategist who can lead, inspire, and execute the vision of Youth For Christ in their community. They are a team and ministry developer who recruits, inspires, and equips staff and volunteers to reach young people in authentic Christ-sharing relationships. Finally, they are a resource steward who both raises and stewards the financial resources of the chapter.
Essential Functions:

o Develop and execute a five-year strategic plan for your chartered area.
o Develop and execute annually a marketing plan and execution calendar that shares the vision of the ministry.
Team Developer (20%)

o Actively work with your Board of Directors to steward the local mission of YFC.
o Complete the appropriate credentialing process for this role.
o Maintain YFC USA standards and policies for screening and training all staff and volunteers.
o Take an active role in developing staff, volunteers, and young people toward their personal ministry leadership. Utilize YFC’s online training platform, regional conferences, and other resources for the Affiliate’s leadership development plan.
o Maintain a healthy personal balance by guarding your schedule for times of rest.
o Take regular time for silent reflection and prayer, listening to and depending on Jesus for His guidance in this role.
Ministry Developer (20%)

o Assess the local community and identify the YFC ministry programs most needed.
o Execute YFC ministry models by implementing the YFC Processes, Standards and Best-Practices.
o Assess ministry outcomes through the use of YFC Knowledge Base, Impact, and other resources. Ensure ministry data is submitted accurately each month.
Resource Steward (40%)
• Fund Development
• Operations, including Financial
• Asset Management
Execute all YFC Processes, Standards and Best Practices in the Knowledge
Base to help you:
o Develop and manage a July – June operating budget in partnership with your Board of Directors.
o Implement a Donor Development program which aligns with YFC USA’s “Find, Win, Keep, Lift” philosophy. This includes engaging donors and potential donors weekly regarding the ministry and mission of YFC, oversight of See the Story & Be the Story Events and major gift development.
o Manage staff Circle of Influence (COI) development and activities. Over time, in consultation with the Board of Directors, due to organizational structure changes and/or the needs of the chapter, it is likely that the percentage of time spent on each of these functions will change.
Spiritual Responsibilities
Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate, and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.
As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel,
YFC expects all employees to:
• Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
• Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
• Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps, and events.
• Model empathy, humility, and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. Additionally, YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.
Fundraising Responsibilities
As the leader of a YFC Chapter you are responsible to meet fundraising goals and maintain a predetermined account balance for your chapter. This includes developing and implementing a development plan as indicated above which is consummate with the overall objectives of the annual budget(s). All fundraising activities, donor development and events must follow YFC USA’s policies and procedures.
All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge and demonstrated skills in each of Youth for Christ’s
Cultural Attributes (Christ-Centered, Kingdom Inspired Diversity, Joyful Camaraderie, Relentless Trust, Enduring Humility, and Courageous Faithfulness).
• Significant experience in senior leadership roles at a youth-serving organization, having demonstrated proficiency in many or all of the above areas of responsibility.
• Proven financial management and fundraising acumen.
• Experience managing diverse partnerships across nonprofit, philanthropic, education and corporate sectors.
• Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills as well as proficient in common workspace technology.
• Presence as a leader with evident passion and commitment to serving all young people.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and an exemplary work ethic.
• Collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
• Positive attitude with an innate ability to devise creative solutions.
Credentials
Required & Preferred Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
• Minimum of five years related experience required; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents. Activities require the ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office to access files or office equipment, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, handheld devices, copy machine, and computer printer. No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force may be required. Good manual dexterity required for the use of computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies. The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer and phone are normal. Travel Requirements This position will require regular travel within the five counties BIGJAWs serves and will likely include irregular trips outside of that area.
