JOB DESCRIPTION
This position has direct supervisory responsibility for designated departments and production team members in those departments. The Supervisor is tasked with meeting production schedules and standards for quality and team member safety. This individual also directs the team in all continuous improvement activities within the department. They must be willing to work off shifts and weekends when required.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implementing daily production schedules and taking appropriate corrective action to ensure on time delivery.
- Coaching and providing ongoing feedback to team members on performance in a timely manner.
- Communicating work flow requirements across shifts to ensure continuity and consistency of work.
- Coordinating training and cross training activities of team members and provide up to date metrics.
- Attaining Business Unit Metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Throughput).
DUTIES:
- This individual will be developed to manage multiple departments within an extremely vertically integrated facility.
- They will be responsible for all day to day management tasks along with driving short and long term improvements.
- Performance is based on meeting departmental metrics such as production, schedule attainment, quality and safety.
- Must be willing to work off shifts.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Work well under pressure
- Manufacturing Background
- Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma Experience
- Basic Safety procedures and proven safety history
- Effective communications and public relations
- Basic quality system knowledge and proven quality background
EXPERIENCE
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervisory position.
- Experience working within a Union facility is preferred.
- Experience in Electrical Mechanical Assembly, CNC Machining, Die Cast, and or Punch Press is preferred.
- Work experience and technical knowledge is taken into consideration.
