Kemper Flooring Recognized as the July Member of the Month
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors surprised owner Jeff Kemper and his staff at Kemper Flooring located at 1525 Hillcrest Drive in Ossian as the July Member of the Month.
Jeff Kemper has been in the flooring and remodeling business since the beginning of his career. Kemper had a vision during that time that he would own his own store; however, he didn’t want it to be like everyone else and wanted to take it a step further. “I wanted to teach the installers what they needed to make the company better and deliver an outstanding high quality product.”
Kemper’s vision became a reality in 2007 when he bought out another local flooring company and opened Kemper Flooring. “I was taught in the beginning by Larry Hansen to care about the jobs and the people working for you. It wasn’t about the money first, but the people,” explained Kemper. “It was a lot of work to build the business in that mentality, but it was worth it and makes the business a lot more solid. Those values were installed in me in the beginning of my career.”
Kemper commends the people who work for him and said they make the company great because they are family and fitting into that culture is important. “We work together well, take care of one another, have a strong team environment and our crew knows they have a say in the direction of how we do a job. That is key to our success.”
Kemper Flooring offers any type of flooring, custom showers, back splashes, home remodels for small commercial, residential, and new construction. “The home-owner is our main focus and I really enjoy the design aspect of the business and working with the customers,” said Kemper.
The staff will work closely with a customer from the moment they enter the store discovering what their needs and expectations are to designing that perfect end in mind. “If there is technical work to be done in the home, Mike and I have over 70 years of experience and we can come in to assess the changes,” added Kemper.
“I am not above getting dirty and going out on a job and I thoroughly enjoy it; I am trying to step back and let my crew do their job because they are more than qualified to do so,” said Kemper. “I would like to take a moment and thank the outstanding individuals that work so hard for the company: Jacob, Terry, Luis, Izzy, Chuck, Jimmy, Filly, Drew, Jim, Bill, Jeremy, and Dustin.”
Kemper concluded that Ossian has been good to him and he is thankful the community has been so accepting and good to him and the business.
