New Barber in Wells County

New Barber in Wells County

The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors welcomed a new barber, Jamie Husband with 90 Degree Cuts, with a Ribbon Cutting celebration on March 14, 2022. 90 Degree Cuts is located at 206 West Market Street in Bluffton.

Jamie has always wanted to be a barber since he was young. Over a year ago, Jamie was working at a local mill in Bluffton and staff were reduced, leaving him unemployed. Jennifer, Jamie’s wife, said, “that opportunity allowed Jamie to go to school and get his barbers license. I worked from home, took care of our kids, and Jamie pushed himself hard doubling classes morning and night. We made it and I am so proud of him.”

Their first barber shop in Huntington opened January 2021. “We weren’t sure if we were doing the right thing during a pandemic because haircuts are not a necessity, but we made it through that first year and clientele continued to grow,” stated Jennifer.

“It’s been a journey. I really didn’t plan to go to barber school,” explained Jamie. “I thought I would work at the mill the rest of my life; however, everything fell into place and here I am. The business started to grow, people started hearing about me, referring friends, and soon clients were traveling from Bluffton over to Huntington.”

“As the business started to grow, we were looking for our next move wondering what we want to do next, how do we expand and get to the next level,” said Jennifer. “This space became available and decided this was the right move for us.”

The space on Market Street in Bluffton was move-in ready after long-time Barber Jim Fritz retired. Jamie was able to start renting the space this month setting up supplies and equipment to begin booking clients.

“As of now, I am the only one at both locations and hope to eventually hire someone; however, l have a lot of passion for what I do and if their energy does not match mine, I will continue to work on my own,” said Jamie.

90 Degree Cuts offers services such as haircuts, shaves, eyebrows, facials, scalp treatments, perms, and beard trimming. Jamie is experienced cutting all nationalities of hair types. Clients can go to the Facebook page to schedule an online appointment or call 260-388-6964. Walk-ins are also welcome.

The hours are Monday from 10am to 6pm, Wednesday from 12pm to 9pm, and Friday from 10am to 7pm.
