New Owners and Name Change to Pierre’s Party & Tent Rental

October 23, 2017Chamber News, Ribbon CuttingsErin Prible

The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors celebrated with Pierre and Kimberly Gerber with a Ribbon Cutting for their new business, Pierre’s Party and Tent Rental, on October 12 at 101 Dustman Rd, Bluffton. Gerber purchased the business, formally known as Schoeff’s Party & Tent Rental, in March 2017.

Pierre’s Party and Tent Rental is local family owned. With a full time staff of two, Pierre and Kimberly explain that this is a family business and “family is very important to us.” With the warm weather season being the busiest, the Gerbers plan to hire seasonal individuals to help with tent set-up and tear-down.

“We decided to buy this business because we wanted something we could build and manage as we got older,” Pierre comments. “There is a potential for growth in this industry and it was very interesting to us to take it on.”

Pierre’s Party and Tent Rental has 1,500 chairs, 130 tables, a variety of tents ranging in size from 10×10 to 60×240, bounce houses, wedding décor, heaters, fans, and generators available for rent. “We can accommodate rentals for weddings, graduation parties, anniversaries, birthday parties, and even corporate outings,” says Pierre.

Kimberly explains that the trend for wedding décor is rustic so they have been collecting and buying items from old farms, antique shops, and garage sales. “We are taking those items and transforming them into beautiful wedding decorations and centerpieces.”

The Gerbers have a goal to be a one-stop-shop location for a wedding. “We will continue to grow our services and our hope is that in five years we can provide everything and anything a wedding would need,” explains Pierre.

Pierre stresses to his seasonal staff, “you can rent a tent from anybody, but our service has to be better than everyone else. At the end of the day, we need to make a difference to the customer and it’s that relationship that is important for our business.”
