New Owners at Crimson House Café
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors welcome the new owners of Crimson House Café, Catrina and Andrew Wells, with a ribbon cutting celebration. Crimson House Café is located at 304 North Jefferson Street in Ossian.
Over the past 10 years life has brought the Wells family full circle back to their hometown roots. Catrina received her culinary degree from IvyTech in 2017 and was chosen to travel to France and Germany for additional training. Catrina started working at Crimson House and loved the experience and had a dream to own the business one day. When the Reed’s decided to sell the business, Catrina and Andrew are the ones they had in mind to continue the operations.
The challenge was that the Wells family had moved out of the area due to Andrew being in the military. “I always had an inkling that maybe one day I would run the business,” said Catrina. “Heidi and Jeff reached out to me first when they made the decision and I could not be happier. We took ownership January of this year.”
“Fate brought us back and this is a dream come true,” explained Catrina. “This has been amazing and the support from the community has been overwhelming. The best part is that all of the staff stayed with me and they are an awesome group of ladies. We kill it every day and I am super thankful for the hard-working staff I have.”
Catrina explained that even with the transition, the community has been supportive. “I was hoping we would still have our regulars and they have been amazing. People can still expect the same level of excellent service and products at Crimson House.”
Crimson House offers a breakfast and lunch menu, a variety of coffee and tea beverages, Wednesday comfort food options, and Saturday breakfast specials. “I am trying to switch up comfort food and breakfast specials on a regular basis to keep it fresh and exciting,” stated Catrina. “We just released coffee ice cubes and people are loving it! I am glad people are adventurous and trying new things.”
Catrina also stated that catering and room space is another option Crimson House can offer. “We have space in our conference room for gatherings, baby and bridal showers, and business meetings. People can also rent the whole facility for an event after hours. Anyone can order a large quantity of food and pick it up as well.”
“We also have a drive-thru to make it easier and quicker for people,” Catrina said. “People are welcome to use our drive-thru on their way through, or call ahead and place your order and swing by and pick it up. You don’t have to come in if you don’t want to.”
“I want to thank everyone for accepting me in,” commented Catrina. “I am so happy to be here and serving the community for many more years to come with the highest level of quality and service.”
Crimson House is open Tuesday through Saturday 7am to 2pm.
