Pawfect Cuts Groomery Opens for Business
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors welcomed owner, Azrael Billings of Pawfect Cuts Groomery, with a ribbon cutting celebration. Pawfect Cuts Groomery is located at 1015 West Wiley Avenue in Bluffton.
Billings moved from Chicago in 2022 and has been a pet groomer for 13 years. “Grooming was my first job and I worked under two amazing groomers in Chicago,” explained Billings. “I always knew I wanted to work with animals and thought at first I wanted to be a Veterinarian. I realized that wasn’t the path I wanted to take, but grooming was my love and passion.”
Billings fiancé, Brad Imel, has been an encourager to get her established in Wells County. “I have helped her along the way; however, she has the ability and knows what to do to get her business up and running. She has the power and passion and we just needed to find that next chapter in her life and this is it.”
The Wiley Street location was one an old office space that needed a lot of rehabilitation. “My goal was to open last October, but we needed to renovate from top to bottom,” said Billings. “I did a lot of the work myself such as sanding and painting the floor, painting all of the walls, replacing lights and ceiling tiles, creating a holding room for the dogs, and purchasing equipment. A wall needed to be repaired and I rebuilt a desk to work from.”
Billings goal was to create a homey, welcoming, and soothing environment for her clients. “I want the dogs to come in and feel welcomed and enjoy being here. The best feeling ever for me is when the dog wants to stay here because they have enjoyed their experience so much.”
Pawfect Cuts Groomery is a full-service grooming facility offering baths, blow-dry, ear cleaning, nail trims, and full haircuts. Walk-in services for nail trims and ear cleanings are also available. All sizes and breeds of dogs are welcome.
“I offer one-on-one services and will not overbook as I don’t want to overstress myself or the animals,” stated Billings. “I will allow multiple dogs in the same family to be scheduled. As I build the business, the consistent hours will be Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm. I do require that the dogs be up to date on their shots.”
Billings said she is very grateful for the support in getting her business started. “I welcome people to stop by, meet me, and see the business. I have been doing this for a very long time and would be happy to answer any questions people may have.”
