The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors recognized Jeff and Peg Yergler and their staff with Resource Maintenance as the January Member of the Month. Resource Maintenance is located at 225 West Market Street in Bluffton.

Nearly 38 years ago, Jeff Yergler delivered fuel to homes for farmers but felt he was not busy enough. Yergler took a small ad out in the local newspaper to clean offices. “I got my first job at Moorman’s Feed for five days a week,” explained Yergler. “I decided to go around town to other businesses and book more jobs and the business started to grow.”

“I really liked my job with the fuel route; however, the janitorial business really started to take off, and I had to sell my fuel route and focus on Resource Maintenance,” Yergler said. “We currently have 34 employees working for us and they are the ones that keep the business going and we appreciate everything they do.”

Resource Maintenance also offers janitorial supplies, vacuum sales for home and commercial use (with an assortment of brand names), service and parts. “As you can imagine, with so many cleaning jobs our vacuums were always breaking. Jim and Martha Lehman had a vacuum repair business and we eventually bought that portion of the business from them.”

In 2015 a local party store closed and Yergler decided to buy the inventory and add it to their store on Market Street. “I thought it would be important to keep party supplies local and handy for people,” Yergler said. “We have plates, napkins, invites, boxed cards, utensils, plastic table rolls, cups, and so on. Items in many different colors for those planning a party and we can special order supplies as well.”

Yergler stated that this honor was very humbling and appreciated and that he holds the job title is VP because God is the President. “Wells County is a good town to raise a family and this is home. We know a lot of people here and our family are here, and we appreciate all the Chamber does for the community,” concluded Yegler.
