Newly Renovated and Upgraded Building
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors celebrated with the staff of Farm Credit Mid-America located at 1319 Baker Place in Bluffton with a ribbon cutting on April 16, 2019 for the newly renovated and upgraded building.
Farm Credit Mid-America has been in the community for over 30 years serving the agriculture industry. The purpose of Farm Credit is to secure the future of rural communities and agriculture. The upgrade to the Bluffton location is one way to fulfill that purpose.
The Bluffton location increased in size by 1,300 square feet, housing up to 12 employees. There is a new welcome center as customers enter the building, the conference room has been expanded, additional parking spaces, and rooms were added such as a workroom, Mother’s Room, dedicated space for training, and work cubicles.
Lindsay Johnson, Director of Retail Operations, explained that “Farm Credit is a cooperative owned by farmers, we’re here to help our customers grow. This year alone we delivered $146 million in Patronage back to our farmers.”
Farm Credit continues to offer additional services to meet the needs of the customer bringing the consumer brand of Rural 1st as another added service; home loans for rural homes. There are a variety of loans that can be offered through Farm Credit such as home, construction, lot, recreational land, and home equity loans.
“We welcome people to stop by, visit and get a tour of the building,” concludes Johnson. “We are very proud of the work that has been done and are anxious to show everyone. It’s brighter and more inviting and want to offer a better experience to our customers.”
