Sprunger & Sprunger Transforms a Downtown Building
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff, Ambassadors, friends, and neighbors welcomed Sprunger & Sprunger Attorneys at Law to 105 N. Main St in Bluffton with an Open House Party and Ribbon Cutting on April 6. Approximately 250 local people came in throughout the day to see the newly renovated building and meet the attorneys and staff.
Attorneys Cory Sprunger, and his wife Allison, currently have a law practice in Berne. Cory is a graduate of South Adams High School and attended college at Indiana Wesleyan University and then received his law degree from Pepperdine University in CA, where he met Allison. The Sprungers decided to move to Cory’s hometown, in Berne, to be near family and for a desired quality of life they wanted for their own family.
“We chose to open a law firm in Wells County because we felt the area is underserved for family and criminal law and many of our clients are from this area,” explains Cory. “Allison is a local Public Defender and having an office here will make it easier for us to serve our clients.”
“We just hired Attorney Grace (Eddington) Vitatoe, who was previously a DCS Lawyer for the past 10-12 years and will work with Allison sharing cases of family and criminal law between the two offices,” says Cory. “There are more people in need of help than there are attorneys in the area.”
Cory’s focus is on business law, estate planning and administration, real estate, and personal injury. “We will continue to keep the Berne office open and our goal is to eventually grow both firms within a year; possibly adding 10 additional jobs, phasing one at a time as the needs grow,” Cory says.
Cory wants people to know that first and foremost Sprunger & Sprunger is a faith-based law firm. “We are Christians and we practice law. We are a not a law firm with a Christian flavor, but just the opposite, because of our faith we practice law. Our motto is dedicated to loving, protecting and restoring justice for you, your family and your business.”
The Sprungers purchased the building in September 2017 and started remodeling January 2018. Cory explained that the construction process began at the studs in the wall. “We discovered a 15-foot ceiling under two false ceilings and opened up the space, a conference room was added, walls were removed with others added, a loft with a window was placed in the upstairs, additional offices were installed in the upstairs and we finished with 2,000 square feet of usable space.”
The Bluffton NOW! CRP dollars assisted to make this dream a reality matching their investment up to $25,000. “Overall, we added an additional $100k of new investment in the downtown and we are excited to be a part of that and hope others will follow suite,” concludes Cory.
