State Farm Welcomed to the Community with a Ribbon Cutting
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors welcomed Erin Daugherty and her staff at the new State Farm Insurance located at 1085 N Main Street in Bluffton on February 19, 2019. Daugherty officially opened the new location at the beginning of January 2019.
Daugherty is a native of Bluffton and currently lives in Ossian with her husband, Brandon, and their two children. Daugherty explained that her previous job in Fort Wayne was taking a lot of time away from family and that she always wanted to come back to Bluffton and work but needed to find the right opportunity.
That opportunity came knocking when Daugherty was presented with the option of opening and running her own State Farm Insurance business in Bluffton. “I was intrigued because I love helping people, I can be involved in the community, and it will provide the flexibility with my family,” said Daugherty.
“The process was long to make sure I was the right person and it took a lot of hard work to earn and train my way to where I am today. I jumped in feet first in March of 2018 and was officially offered the position in June 2018,” explained Daugherty.
Daugherty continued to explain that she went through extensive training from June through December 2018. “It was intense. I had to meet certain requirements and goals, get my license to sell insurance and talk to customers, get additional certifications for long term care, go through annuity training, and learn all of the different products State Farm offers.”
“This career allows me to take that love of helping people and work with people about what’s important for their dreams to come true whether that is coming up with a plan for their future or protecting what is important to the customer and their assets,” stated Daugherty.
Daugherty offers a line of insurance products for auto, home, property, business, pets, life, health, and annuities. “Many people are not aware that State Farm also offers bank services such a checking and savings accounts, Money Market Accounts, credit cards, and vehicle and home loans,” Daugherty said.
Daugherty explained that life insurance is one of the main reasons she wanted to be in this career. “I saw so many friends and families loved ones pass and they didn’t have a plan for life insurance. Life insurance could have helped so many and if I can be the one to assist and educate people about the importance and being secure, it can be a game changer for a family.”
Daugherty’s hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9am to 5pm; Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 6pm; and Saturday’s from 9am to Noon.
