Waggin’ & Braggin’ Pet Services Moves Locations
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors welcomed Missie Pagel with Waggin’ & Braggin’ Pet Services to her new location at 1732 North Main in Bluffton with a Ribbon Cutting. Pagel recently moved the business from Ossian to a previous grooming salon in Bluffton.
Pagel has been grooming dogs for over 10 years and had opened a dog grooming salon June of 2020 in Wells County. Pagel moved the business to the former Oooh La La Pet Spa building due to an opportunity that she could not refuse. “When I was approached to take over the book of business and move into the space, I did not think twice about it,” said Pagel.
Pagel swiftly started to prepare the space for the move to make it her own by painting the walls, knocking out a wall in the bathing room for more space, and adding her signature picket fencing. “I have always dreamed that when I open my own shop, I would have picket fencing because it reminds me of a backyard where dogs can play,” explained Pagel.
Waggin’ & Braggin’ Pet Services is taking new clients for grooming. Pagel said that the prices for grooming is based on the breed, rather than the pounds. “We will groom giant, large, medium, small, and toy breeds and structure the pricing based on size.”
Pagel offers a variety of options for grooming such as a Basic Package that includes a bath, blow dry, nail trim, and ear cleaning. A haircut would be added to the Prime Package and a Deluxe Package would add teeth brushing and nail smoothing.
Once the dogs are groomed, they are in a contained area to run around as long as they are social with other dogs. “We will never rush a dog and will give them breaks if they need one. Our goal is to create a calm, playful, and fun environment,” said Pagel. “Grooming should not be a traumatizing or a fearful experience for the animal, and we have the ability to work with all temperaments due to being less hectic during the day.”
Pagel said Puppy Packages are encouraged to start the grooming process early. “This package is a progressive grooming process with an appointment every three weeks to train a puppy to make it easier on them and on us. Starting the dog early helps them adapt and they leave much happier.”
Boarding has become an increased demand in the area and Pagel can now offer these services. “We want folks to know that that dog is out of the kennel more than they are in the kennel, as long as they are socially accepting of other dogs,” explained Pagel. “All dogs must be up to date on their shots and proof of vet paperwork.”
In addition, Pagel can administer medications with the original vet bottles and original instructions. “We have a Kennel Attendant that will come in and care for the dogs after hours,” stated Pagel.
Pagel concluded, “I am really glad to be in this location and invite people to stop by and allow me to introduce myself. I really appreciate the opportunity to serve you and your dogs. I love my job and I know I am in the right line of business.” Waggin’ & Braggin’ Pet Services can be found on Facebook and at www.wagginbraggin.com.
